The things of God can seem foolish to people who never experienced Him.
1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
This scripture reminds me of something someone once said.
"Those who dance are considered insane by those who cannot hear the music."
I went to a wedding reception once were they did the "chicken dance". With or with out hearing the music it was definitely "foolish" looking, but those who joined in flapping their wings and clucking, and prancing around, were definitely having a great time!!
The things of God go against "conventional wisdom", for instance:
To get, we must give!
To be exalted, we humble our selves.
To live, we die to ourselves.
Love you enemies.
If you want to be great, be a servant of all.
Do good to those who hate you.
The first will be last, and the last first.
Be thankful in all things.
Paul states this next!
1Co 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men;
also:
1Co 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
Unless you can "Hear the music" the Gospel will seem foolish.
1Co 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God...
The King was born in a stable,
The King rode in on a Donkey,
The King died naked on the cross,
Foolishness to the "wise",
Hidden from the "noble",
The King Rose from the dead,
The King shall return on a White Horse,
The King of Kings! Clothed in white,
The King will Create a new Heaven and Earth,
The King will Rule forever with those who receive Him.
"Hear the music", follow Him.
